Breakthrough Thinking > Program 1: Breakthroughs!
Sponsors discuss situations where fresher, more motivated
imagination could increase performance significantly. A unit or
cross functional team is selected. Two days are reserved. The
process has already started.
Participants then enter an innovative learning environment where
preexisting mindsets collapse and fields of unrestrained
potential are prompted. Quick mind shifting and non conforming
thinking and model building break the framework.
Participants engage in learning styles that stretch their
thinking and communicating. They experiment with new and more
productive ways of interacting. Through systems thinking, they
identify false causes and faulty conclusions. Non conforming
ideas are set against old mindsets. People are in motion.
A
Family Meeting opens up straight talk about underlying internal
snags and blocks: some hidden rules are exposed.
Participants slate several potential breakthrough outcomes for
exploration.
From the interactions of sub groups against the previous day’s
outcomes, day two reaps six to eight “Star Target” Initiatives
that could potentially yield exceptional payoffs. Each Star
Target has a team and champion to present cases to the whole
group. Finally, three to four targets are selected as test
cases. The group discusses additional learning needs..
In stage three we form new teams around each of the chosen
targets; they study and communicate how their initiatives could
be made practical. Constraints and resources are identified.
Participants make presentations to decision makers asking for
scope to develop targets further, implement now, or hold them
for future work or learning.
